2023 Ford Expedition Review

The 2023 Ford Expedition is like a storage unit. It has enough room for up to eight passengers and all their baggage—especially if you opt for the long-wheelbase MAX version of this SUV.

At most, in the Expedition MAX trim and with all three rows folded flat, you’ll have a total of 121.5 cubic feet of cargo volume—enough to fit about 15 60-gallon plastic storage totes.

With a large vehicle comes massive performance. To power the Expedition, a standard 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine provides 380 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

A higher-output 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine is available on the Timberline and the Limited trims that produces 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with the available Heavy-Duty Trailer Towing Package, you’ll get a maximum towing capacity of 9,300 pounds. This will be plenty for hauling a trailer with extra camping gear or a large boat.
