Engine Options
The Ford F-150 offers a lot of engine options, and we’ve broken them down in this section. The standard engine on each trim level will vary, which results in a range of performance metrics. What will stay the same is the transmission, which is a 10-speed automatic. See below just how much horsepower (HP) and torque is available on this truck.
3.3L V6: 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque
- XL
- XLT
2.7L EcoBoost® V6: 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque
- Lariat
5.0L V8: 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque
- King Ranch
- Platinum
3.5L EcoBoost® V6: 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque
- Limited
- Tremor
3.5L EcoBoost® High-Output V6: 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque
- Raptor
Although each trim level comes with a different standard engine, upgrades are available to the other ones here. For example, you may like the XLT trim when you learn more about its features, but you’d like some extra horsepower beyond the 290 HP it provides. If so, you can upgrade to the 5.0L V8 engine to now see up to 400 HP on each drive.
There’s another available engine not yet mentioned: the 3.5L PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6. It ranks as one of the more powerful choices at 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. It will be available on all trim levels between the base XL and the Limited trim, giving you lots of flexibility to select it along with other interesting features.
Interior Amenities
Some of those interesting features will work to keep you comfortable each day. Whether it’s the climate control system or the seating surfaces, you’ll feel prioritized for your drive. If you’re looking for cloth seats, you’ll find them on the following levels:
- XL
- XLT
- Tremor
Prefer the comfort of leather seats instead? Choose from the Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, or Raptor trim levels. Those same levels will include a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel for improved comfort and a more luxurious look.
To adjust your seat optimally, the XL and the XLT feature an available 8-way power driver’s seat. Further improvement is seen through the standard 10-way power driver’s seat along with a standard heated and ventilated option, which is found on the following trim levels:
- Lariat
- King Ranch
- Platinum
- Limited
- Raptor
Dual-zone automatic temperature control will also be a nice addition. This ensures your front-seat passenger has a comfortable ride as well since they can select their own preferred temperature. This feature is found standard on the Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. It’s available as an upgrade on the XL, XLT, Tremor, and Raptor.
Technology
Technology on a truck is also worth your consideration so you can stay connected. The F-150 offers plenty of standard and available systems to improve your drive. Various screens are available, such as the productivity screen on the dashboard and the touchscreen in the center stack.
On the XL, XLT, and Tremor, you’ll find a standard 4-inch productivity screen. On the other levels, there will instead be a 12-inch digital screen for a more enhanced display. Read below to see which touchscreens will be on each level as well:

Those levels with the 12-inch screen will feature the SYNC® 4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition system. This awesome upgrade allows you to stay focused on the road while requesting cloud-based information. That information will be regularly updated to ensure it’s always accurate. This system will also features wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ for improved smartphone fun.
